9th June 2016: Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) Hokuriku branch opened.
The Hokuriku branch of PMDA that conducts the product reviews and safety measures of pharmaceuticals was established in Toyama Prefecture on June 9th, 2016, along with Seminar Facilities for the Asia Training Center for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Regulatory Affairs.
MHLW announced that the Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention and Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation Scheme(PIC/S) Committee meeting and Seminar in November 2019 are to be hosted by Japan, for the first time. The conference and seminars will be held from November 11th to 15th in Toyama Prefecture.
Through training in Toyama Prefecture, the name recognition of Toyama as the pharmaceutical production base is increasing and it is hoped that pharmaceutical companies in Toyama will contribute to international development.
